Dintre toate minunile lumii antice, desi este cea mai veche minune, aceasta constructie este singura care s-a pastrat pana in prezent. Construita de egipteni in jurul anului 2550 i.Hr., aceasta constructie mai este numita si “Piramida lui Kheops”, intrucat i-a servit drept mormant acestui faraon. Aceasta renumita piramida a fost pentru mai mult de 43 de secole cea mai inalta constructie din lume – pana cand a fost construit Turnul Eiffel (in 1889). Suprafata ocupata de Marea Piramida poate cuprinde laolalta Catedrala Sf. Petru din Roma, catedralele din Florenta si Milano, si Catedralele Westminster si Sf. Paul din Londra.
